Wiki Quick Guide!

HOW TO - Get started!

1. Go to www.beginningjogging.pbwiki.com
2. In order to edit a page you must have an account. To create an account, request access
3. You will receive an email when you are granted access
4. The email will direct you through prompts to set up a free account so you can edit the wiki
5. If you want to edit a page, just go to that page, click Edit, edit the contents and click save

HOW TO - Upload a File

1. Place your cursor where you would like to attach the file
2. Click 'Attach File' in the edit bar
3. Select the file
4. Click upload
5. Once the file appears, click OK

You can upload PDFs, Word docs, and even Powerpoint Presentations.

HOW TO - Insert an Image

1. Place your cursor where you would like to insert the image
2. Click 'Insert Image' in the edit bar
3. Select the image
4. Click upload
5. Once the image appears, click OK

HOW TO - Create links

1. Highlight the word you would like to link to a page/folder/webpage
2. Click on the link button in the Edit bar
3. Choose what link you want to create: Page, Folder, URL (webpage) or email
4. Find the page or enter in the information (paste in the URL or email)
5. Click ok
6. You will see that the highlighted word is now hyperlinked!
7. Once you click save you will be able to click the hyperlink and check if it works.

HOW TO - Add a Footnote

1. Copy the URL or reference of where you found the information you wish to cite
2. Place cursor following the sentence/paragraph that you are paraphrasing
3. Click Insert Plugin
4. Click PBMagic
5. Go to Footnotes
6. Paste the reference in the box
7. Click Preview and OK
8. You will see a funky little green thing which is normal!
9. Click Save and you will see and number where you put your cursor that is link to the reference at the bottom of the page.

HOW TO - Add a Table

1. Place your cursor where you would like to attach the file
2. Click 'Attach File' in the edit bar
3. Select the file
4. Click upload

HOW TO - Add a YouTube Video to Youtube

1. Go to www.youtube.com
2. Create an account if you have none (it is free) and/or sign in.
3. Click upload file
4. Browse for your video
5. Upload video, make sure it is set to public
6. Hints: try not to capture faces of people so you stay unrecognizable, create a weird name for the file (include numbers and letters)

HOW TO - Upload a youtube video on wiki page

1. Go to the page you need to add the video to.
2. Click Edit, add cursor where you want the video
3. Go to Insert Plugin, Video, Insert Youtube video
4. Copy the embedded code from the Youtube video on Youtube: "embed" (see red oval in picture below)
5. Paste the code in the box
6. Click ok and save
